With their seats and backs of metal or steam-bent solid white oak, Wolfgang chairs and stools are a clear tribute to Scandinavian style. Venetian designer Luca Nichetto drew inspiration from two predecessors—Michael Thonet, who designed the No. 14 chair (aka the bistro chair), and Hans J. Wegner, designer of the Wishbone chair—to craft a Scandinavian chair with an Italian touch!
Nichetto launched his first Wolfgang chair at the opening of his Stockholm studio in 2011, naming it in honor of the studio that took him in when he first moved to Sweden, Studio Wolfgang. Other pieces were slowly added to what became the Wolfgang collection, including an armchair, a chaise with an ottoman, a bar stool, and, later on, a tubular steel chair and a metal stool with a footrest. All of the pieces in the Wolfgang collection are manufactured under license by Huppé and come in a vast range of finishes, colors, and fabrics.
