Harbour at Modern Studio · Laguna Beach
Harbour Outdoor: furniture made for strong light and salt air.
Harbour was born on the water in Sydney in 1976, and its furniture suits the Southern California coast. Here’s our guide to Harbour’s collections, frames and performance fabrics, and how to choose the right pieces for an Orange County patio, pool deck or balcony.
Sydney · since 1976
Born on the water, still family-owned.
Harbour’s story starts in 1976 with founder Jim Condos, who learned his craft as a blacksmith at 14 before building a life in Australia. In Harbour’s words, the family has spent fifty years designing furniture “shaped by strong light, salt air and long summer evenings: clean lines, honest materials and comfort made for every day.”
Harbour is still family-owned. It’s now led by Harrison and Nicholas Condos, designs every piece in-house and has teams across North America, Australia, Asia, Europe and the UAE. Its collections come in teak and aluminum, with a choice of more than 70 performance fabrics, and are made to order.
At Modern Studio we carry Harbour’s seating, dining, lounging and poolside pieces. You’ll find them all in our Harbour Outdoor collection, alongside our wider edit of outdoor furniture.

“Different places. Different rituals. The same enduring idea: a life best lived outdoors.” — Harbour
The collections
Twelve Harbour families, from clean-lined to sculptural.
Each Harbour collection is designed in-house and comes with a choice of frame finishes and fabrics. Many come in both aluminum and teak, so you can keep one look across a living area, a dining table and the pool.

Aluminum, teak, stone and rope.
- Aluminum. Extruded aluminum with a European powder coat from AkzoNobel, baked on for a smooth finish that Harbour says resists corrosion and rust. Finishes include Asteroid, Bone, Bronze, Taupe and White.
- Teak. Sustainably sourced, solid Grade A Indonesian teak. Harbour’s Natural Teak is left untreated to show the grain.
- Stone tops. Travertine, sealed during production, in Cream, Natural and Grey, plus European marble and Italian-engineered Laminam porcelain on selected tables.
- Rope & sling. Hand-wrapped olefin and twisted-resin rope, plus Batyline mesh slings from Serge Ferrari that Harbour says resist stretching and tearing.

Frame finishes vary by collection. Each product page shows the finishes for that piece.
Signature textiles
More than 70 performance fabrics, in four grades.
Fabric is where a Harbour piece becomes yours. Harbour says its performance fabrics resist sunlight, moisture, mildew and stains. Several are exclusive to Harbour and were developed with Sunbrella for its Signature Textiles Program.
Panama is milled in Spain from solution-dyed acrylic, and Harbour calls it “the work-horse of outdoor living.” Stirling and Monterey are inspired by linen. Pebble is Harbour’s exclusive bouclé, Altona its performance velvet (rated at 100,000 Wyzenbeek rubs) and Marley a plush chenille. Siesta is an Italian basket-weave, and Sorrento and Sorrento Stripe are milled in Italy by Mario Sirtori, rated at over 70,000 rubs.
On our product pages, Harbour fabrics are grouped into Grade A to D by Harbour’s own price tiers. Pick a grade, then a color, and the price updates on the page. Swatches are shown as fabric chips, and colors Harbour no longer offers have been removed.

Living with Harbour in Orange County
Choosing for the coast, from Laguna to Newport.
1. Start with the frame
Harbour describes its powder-coated aluminum as lightweight and strong, which is useful on balconies and rooftops. Solid teak brings natural warmth. Harbour’s Care + Maintenance guide covers both.
2. Choose fabric for the light
Lighter Panama and Stirling colors keep a sunny terrace feeling airy. Altona velvet and Marley chenille bring an indoor feel to a covered loggia.
3. Plan the whole terrace
Harbour’s collections run from sofas to dining and sun lounges, so a single family can tie together a terrace, a table and the pool.
4. Protect it
Harbour strongly recommends its custom weather covers as an extra layer of protection against the elements, especially when the furniture isn’t in use.

Harbour was founded in Sydney, Australia, in 1976 by Jim Condos. It is still family-owned, now led by Harrison and Nicholas Condos, and it designs every piece in-house.
Is Harbour outdoor furniture suited to coastal homes?
