Chapter one

The story

Founded in 1984 by industrial designer Bill Becker, BDI began with a simple belief: great design should do more than look good—it should improve the way people live. That idea has shaped more than four decades of furniture that brings refined form together with thoughtful function.

BDI built its reputation by rethinking media furniture for changing technology, then carried the same problem-solving mindset into office, occasional, storage, and bedroom collections. The result is modern furniture that feels calm and architectural on the outside while working remarkably hard behind the scenes.

What sets it apart

Craft and materials

BDI is known for carefully engineered details such as cable management, adjustable shelving, ventilated cabinetry, satin-etched glass, soft-close hardware, and versatile storage. Materials and finishes are selected to balance durability, tactile quality, and a clean modern presence.

Why we carry it

We carry BDI because its furniture solves real problems without sacrificing the room. The collections are especially strong for clients who want technology, storage, and everyday function integrated into a refined modern interior.
