Behind the name

The story

NAOS began with an idea from founder Mario Morbidelli: furniture could change through movement. Working with designers in the mid-1980s, he developed tables that opened, expanded, and transformed through coordinated mechanisms.

That idea remains central to the brand’s Action Design approach. Dining and coffee tables combine a strong visual identity with a useful change of shape, making movement part of the experience of living with the piece.
