Indoor, bedroom and outdoor hanging chairs
Our hanging chairs are designed by Studio Stirling. For bedrooms and living rooms, the leather SLING and SLING BUTTERFLY chairs and the cocoon-like Nest Egg and Lucky Bean swing chairs suit indoor reading corners. For patios and pool decks, look at models made for outdoor use, such as the Bubble Outdoor Chair with Grey Cushions, the SLING Outdoor Chair in Blues and the Angle7 Minimal Outdoor Swing. Choose the chair for its setting
Indoor and outdoor suitability varies by model, frame finish, and cushion material. Do not assume that every hanging chair or upholstery option is weather-resistant. Review the selected product's specifications and care instructions, especially for exposed patios, poolside areas, or coastal locations.
Plan space for the seat and its movement
Compare overall width, depth, and height with the available space, allowing for the movement and clearances specified by the manufacturer. Consider how you will enter and leave the chair, as well as nearby furniture, walls, doors, and walkways. Check whether suspension hardware, cushions, or a compatible stand are included or sold separately.
Confirm support before ordering
Suspended seating needs a suitable support system. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and load limits, and have a qualified installer confirm the structure and fixing method. A ceiling, beam, tree branch, or frame should never be assumed suitable from appearance alone.
Ceiling mount, beam, or stand
Most of our Studio Stirling hanging chairs are supplied with hanging mechanisms in standard lengths for suspension from a suitable ceiling joist or beam, and many models list a maximum capacity of 120 kg (265 lb). The Angle Seven swing chair is also offered as a seat or as a chair with legs. If you would rather not hang from the structure, ask us whether a compatible stand is available for the model you like.
